Default LS-Tree OM-R

Looks great Lonzo and this wood combo in Joel's hands should produce an amazing sounding guitar!

...a good part of the plan Doug !
I certainly hope it will...

Unfortunately another part of the plan was to get it after the Holy grail show in Berlin... but that seems to be irrational, at least for when it was planned early May.... we will see, no official cancellation yet... but I wouldn’t be surprised.

A dream guitar either way

Stay safe !

Wow--looking at that second pic one would never think that it is actually a flat surface.

Amazing depth and 3D landscape character to that back set!

Yes Nemoman .. with the reflections it almost looks like there's a glass laid over it with the inlay hovering there..

Here's the neck in satin finish, with a fade into the body color even ... and first glimpse of the whole thing - the headstock also turned out great imo ;o)

The bridge is just laid on top ... not glued yet.

Joel is finalising the fretboard, said he'd do more polishing (?!)

We will go with gold evo frets and tinted bone nut & saddle...

Have a good Easter everyone and stay safe!

Lonzo

Really beautiful. I like the fade on the neck, it highlights and anchors the flame. The body, lines and inlays are classic Joel elegance, perfect balance.
It is a shame the two of you unlikely to meet for the handoff in Berlin, crazy times.

Hi virob, thanks for commenting.
I also like the neck a lot... and am sure I will get that beauty somehow, just maybe later

A few update pics for the weekend [emoji16]
Thankfully I got some to ease my curiosity
and yours I hope ..
So here is the neck in various steps of further refinement

1st Joel cleans the fretslots with a heated metal device to burn out whatever us in there.. when he sent the pic it said: ..thinking of setting that thing on fire... didn't buy it a second

2nd the frets before installing

3rd a closeup of the bridge

Have a great weekend and stay safe !

Wow, this is one beautiful guitar. And rest assured that in Joel’s hands it will sound even better than it looks. IMHO Joel is one of the most talented luthiers building guitars today. I met Joel in Santa Barbara and he built me a OO-R that is Adirondack and the Tree. Still the best guitar I have ever played. You are In for a real treat.

Hi funky2x,
I was supposed to get it next weekend ... not now.. so I will have to endure the wait somewhat longer.
But what is this - albeit annoying - in comparison to what is going on around us..
I am thankful either way, not being affected and to be blessed to expect something so nice sometime down the road.
All is relative, some things are really important, others really nice „only“.

Hi Nemoman,
Under normal circumstances I would be ecstatic^2, but given the current situation I know this is a luxury even more than it was one before already and the extra wait is not an issue.
But yes, I am extremely happy about how it turns out and still awaiting the next round of update pics.
Stay safe and healthy
Lonzo

High time for an update..

..starting with the 1st pic I received with strings on
..and one showing how the installed gold evo frets look while they are dressed to their final shine ... interestingly they look silvery and not so golden... but regain their pale golden colour

..in this one the tuners are in as well

As the original plan was to display this baby at the Holy Grail.. and the rest is known... so Joel took some more time to finalize everything... it is not 100% finished yet.. but getting soooo close...
I just got these... and boy I couldn't be happier... bone will still be dyed/stained a little.. hope you like & enjoy it as I do !
