John Kinnaird x Brazilian Rosewood x Lucky Strike = Can’t go wrong and it will likely exceed every single expectation.

The icings on the cake are the Purpleheart (what an elegant touch) and the Lapis Lazuli - can’t wait to see the appointments. It will likely be exquisite.

I appreciate your confidence Han. The Lapis will be the challenge

These are the elements that will make up the rosette sitting on the LS top. Lapis, Brazilian rosewood, and fiddleback mahogany, with perhaps some black lines to crisp up edges

Really looking forward to seeing what you do with those materials to make the rosette, John. This looks like a very impressive guitar you're making. You know I'm a big fan of your work, so I'm going to keep an eye on this thread as the project develops.

Well after burning through 4 diamond encrusted bits on my dremel ( ive never seen a dremel bit glow red before this ) cutting arcs out of Lapis, I finally have the rosette assembled.

Whoa! Definitely worth the 4 bits, at least for us spectators here : )

Lovely shade of blue and contrast, as Klaus notes.
