Default MX-T soundhole tuner removal

If possible, I want to remove the tuner as it`s pretty inaccurate and looks ugly imho.
So, after unsticking it from the top, can I remove it by just going into the soundhole with some mini cutters and snip the tuner wire ?

Will the pickup system still work as normal ?

As you can tell, I know very little about electrics.
Thanks for any advice

If you don’t get an answer from someone who knows contact Fishman Customer Service.
You can send them a message on their website. They are kinda slow but they should eventually answer.

Best of luck. _RP

I did this, but I also removed the entire pickup system since it's the cheap, horrible Sonitone pickup. But yes a better option is to undo the endpin box, pull it out a little and then you can unplug the little connection of the tuner to the preamp section. But....if you care about your live sound, I would suggest removing everything and putting a Anthem SL in there. I did that with my Martin GPC16e and now it sounds glorious.

The Sonitone/MX-T isn't exactly my favorite pickup and I'm sure I'll upgrade at least one of my gig guitars at some point. But I've found the tuner useful simply because it mutes the guitar--and then I can tune with my Fender Bullet clip-on.

Dan that thread is about a stand alone Sonitone pickup removal which is similar but not situated in the guitar quite the same as the MX-T.

OK now remove the rest of that pickup and slap an Anthem SL in there
