Hi Doug

I've not been able to dig this out - would you mind pointing me to the post (or briefly summarising it). I assume you're talking about taking the output of two different pickups and using a MS decoder to turn them into a stereo mixed signal (?).

So does anybody have a sub $300 recommendation for a ribbon mic to use with one of my Oktavas? The Cascade FatHead in Chuck's recording sounds quite nice. I've heard some recordings of the Golden Age Project R1 that sound good, too.

For my first "real" mics, I'm considering an AT4021 SDC with an AT4050 LDC for the flexibility of instrument + voice recording, as well as spaced mic recording like this and this. Would this also be a good combo for Mid-Side with the 4050 in figure-8?
