What a beautiful gift, Dale. The joy that music brings cannot be measured.

I’ve done a few gigs at senior / care facilities and have witnessed folks being moved from motionless to singing and humming along when a song touches their hearts and memory.

agree, nearly impossible to measure the 'magic' of music. It seems the brain retains things when in 'music language' better than most anything else from our life experience. Great to hear about your work in this area!

I played at my mother's nursing home about ten years ago, along with another guitarist and pianist. The residents were brought in, all in wheel chairs, and were arranged in a large semi-circle in front of us. By the time we had played a couple of tunes, every single resident had their head down and appeared to be sleeping.

As we continued to play, I noticed that one of the residents, motionless and still with their head down, was tapping their foot to the beat on the footrest of the wheel chair.

Made my day.

Tom

It's wonderful that you share some of your time, Dale, to help others. That's a lovely scene in the video, greatly appreciated!

Take care,

Awesome to hear this and very refreshing. My wife and I are retired hospice chaplains and we still serve as volunteer chaplains for our company. We play and sing weekly for memory care residents. Nice sounding Collins!
