Default NGD - Kostal OMC Koa/German Spruce

It was a happy new guitar day this past Saturday as FedEx delivered my Kostal OMC I ordered in mid 2019. I started a separate thread about this guitar shortly after I ordered it and it was moving along towards completion just about a year ago but there was mix-up that caused an unforced error. Jason and I decided it was best to start the guitar over so the order got back on track this past spring and the pics below show the finished guitar (the pics were taken the week before last). The original order was also completed and sold through a dealer to a new owner so everyone ended up happy.

We picked master grade koa for the back and sides and I am over the moon with the results both aesthetically and tonally. The look of the grain of this koa is 3D in person and it sure matches the description of flamed in appearance. The German spruce top is creamy beautiful and the rosette I left to Jason's discretion for a color and pattern that would organically compliment the koa.

Soncially, this guitar rings with a clarity that is super impressive out of the box. The bass is especially impressive as it can be as present as you want it to be but never boomy at all. Jason is known for building guitars with exceptional string to string balance and this one is no exception. Setup wise, he put it right on the numbers I was looking for so this guitar is very easy for me to play.

I'll try to post a recording soon.

That is a fabulous looking guitar and based on what I've heard before, a stunning sounding one too. I hope you enjoy it.

Nice job all around. So glad in the end that you got just what you were hoping for. It is beautiful and having played several of Jason's guitars, I have no doubt whatsoever that it has a heavenly sound. Play in good health fine sir!

Beautiful woods, great artistry, excellent fit and detail, even great pics!
Short of a beach date with Alessandra Ambrosio, that's my idea of a good day!
Congratulations and look forward to hearing it.

Gorgeous! Maybe the best set of Koa I've seen in a long time. I think Koa is Jason's favorite wood, and he must have a super secret supplier!

I'm in this batch as well, so fingers crossed for mine in the next few weeks.

Congrats!
