Default La Conner Guitar Festival rescheduled

From the site:
NOTE: It's with an abundance of caution we at the La Conner Guitar Festival have decided it is in the best interest of all that we reschedule the festival. The new dates are July 10 - 12, 2020. Please be patient while we go through the process of rescheduling the Concerts, Workshops and Special Events.
Thank you!

Thank you for rescheduling and for informing us.

Given my public health and legal training, I believe it would inappropriate to host a guitar festival, the object of which is for folks to travel from across the globe and to join in sharing the handling of objects, in these times.

Again, thank you for rescheduling and for informing us.

Thanks Gordon, no doubt this is a massive task for you and your colleagues, but the benefits could justify the effort.

I am trying to schedule a trip to the USA to coincide with your fest val, so I'll watch developments with interest.

Just to clarify, I do not represent La Conner Guitar Festival. I wanted to let folks know about this as it affects near-term travel planning.

Their website seems to indicate that this will take place in May of this year, but there isn't ticket info yet.

Way more predictable than scheduling it in the future!

Zombie thread or not, they are moving ahead for a mid-May festival.

So far it looks like many previous favorites with a lot of new luthiers as well.

The greater Western Washington area is due for another round of heavy rains the next few days. The La Conner area has a history of big floods, have to wait and see how bad it will be. Not sure how this will affect any future events in the area. Hope for the best.

As it happens, I was up in the Mt Vernon/Conway/La Conner area yesterday. The floodwaters have receded.

It was very bad in late fall (evacuations) but this end of the year flooding was closer to what happens almost every year.

Mid-May in La Conner tends to be pretty nice. Last festival it was in the mid-80s.

Average temp in May is around 65. It's more normal to need an umbrella than sunglasses.

I opened this thread, as I hope to be going this year. Unfortunately I did not see the year immediately..I just saw the new dates of July 10-12 and moved my original May 13th thru 15th dates to July10-12 on my personal event planning calender( I did not catch that it was stated for the year of 2020).
Just today, I have now seen my error,(luckily) and see that indeed it is still May13th thru 15th of 2022.
However, it might be wise to edit the original post with this years current date and year..so others do not make the same mistake.

In the tickets tab it says that "Tickets will go on sale in early 2022" but I don't see any specifics yet.

The local chamber of commerce calendar does not show the festival, so the organizers have perhaps not yet notified the town that the event is confirmed.
