Default Happy ending with Emerald Guitars

A few days ago I posted a story about an Emerald Opus X-10 guitar which I ordered directly from the Factory in Ireland . The guitar, a model from last year which was offered to me at a very discounted price, was ordered and paid on November 11, but never arrived. In fact, due to a mistake of the carrier, it was shipped to France, instead, and was left there for many days.
After 16 days, it is now back in Dublin. Alistair Hay, the owner of Emerald Guitars, has decided to get it back to the Factory and, in its place, it will ship me a brand new guitar, with no extra-charge. More over, he has already refunded me for the shipping expenses. That means that I will get a brand new guitar with no shipping expenses and... at the price of a used one. This is really a nice and more than fair way to amend for a shipping mistake. I really appreciate it and therefore I like to inform evberybody in the Forum about this happy ending.

Thanks for the attention,

gerardo1000

Now THAT was funny!

Sounds like a good company....gotta love a customer service story like that. And I think Emerald should be lauded for it.

It's not arrived yet, I am crossing my fingers ! But two mistakles in a row from the shipping carrier are unconceivable. Besides, I guess that Alistair is using UPS this time.
Well, at the end, it will be a three weeks wait, but it will be worthwile !

I'm sorry you didn't get your all-expenses-paid trip to France to look for your guitar, Gerardo, but I guess that would have been a bit much.

This kind of response puts Emerald Guitars' customer service up there with the very best, and will go a long way toward helping people select their guitars over those from companies that don't care about their customers.

Please be sure to post a thorough review, pictures, and even a recording or two when your new guitar arrives and you have a chance to get to know it a bit. I suspect we will all be interested!

Though we weren't personally involved, please pass our compliments and thanks on to Mr. Hay. Well done.

Good on Alastair. Sensible too: It's a simple enough fix, and by eating a couple bucks (or quids or whozzats?-Euros!) now he is undoubtedly selling a few more instruments down the line.

I'm glad to hear that. I'm planning to take the carbon/composite plunge (once I've accumulated enough capital with the wife. . . ) and like what I hear about the Emeralds. Hearing that Mr. Hay is a stand-up guy certainly doesn't hurt, either! We're planning a trip to Dublin in the spring, so maybe. . .

I second the motion for pics and impressions/reviews!
