Much as I like the tele and strat theres something about the Les Paul shape that keeps calling to me. I went shopping for one recently, an epiphone, but came back with a lovely antique burst Guild Bluesbird. I will probably get a tele at some point though

I have owned most of the classic shapes (if not in their classic form) over the years - Strats, Teles, LPs and 335s - but my favourite of all time is the Rickenbacker 650D I've had for the best part of 20 years.

This Jazzmaster is my number one go to model. A Stratocaster is a very close second.

Telecasters are my favorite. I have two. ... an American Standard with a natural ash body/rosewood fretboard and an assembled white semi-hollow thin-line with two P90s and a Fender licensed one-piece maple neck/fretboard.

Godin LG, with either P-90s or humbuckers. I've also had a Summit which cost way more, felt the same, and didn't sound any better. I'm generally a big fan of Godin.

I suspect it changes day to day, which is why and because I've owned a lot of electric guitars.

However I originally bonded with a Telecaster, and in the spirit of the thread I'll say a three pickup Telecaster with a neck humbucker. This pickup combo generally lets one get:

One of the best single coil sounds: the bridge Tele single coil.
One of the most distinctive two single-coil sounds: the "Strat quack."
My favorite position on most humbucker guitars: the neck pickup.
It'll often will allow one of my favorite pickup blends: a fairly powerful single coil bridge with a humbucker neck.
And in many cases it'll give you the under-rated but useful Strat single-coil middle pickup sound.

I like this configuration so much I have two such beasts: a Japanese Fender Tele Thinline with a full-size neck humbucker and a Tele neck pickup in the middle pickup position instead of the neck, and then Squier solid-body Tele with a Firebird style mini-humbucker, and a Strat middle PU.

Great question Dru. I have an ES-359, a Strat, a Tele, a Godin, an ES-175, a Gretsch and a couple others, but when you have three Lesters, I guess it's the Les Paul. Probably the 12 string, just cuz no one else has one.

I'm torn between the Gibson Les Paul and the SG but I'd go with a Les Paul as my one and only.

What about you?
Tom Anderson Cobra T, all day long. 12" radius, 24.5" scale, mahogany body with maple cap, the best necks in existence, fantastic people to deal with. Lots of options available, mine is a bone stock hardtail. I think the pickups are HC-1 and HC-2 (humbuckers.)

I'm an acoustic player but the guitar I remember fondly is the Les Paul Junior double cut.

Way back in the mists of time I auditioned as a drummer for a rather famous British blues band, along with a couple of other drummers.

For reasons I can't remember I found myself playing lead guitar on the "boss's" guitar and it jst seems beautifully toned and shaped.

No-one got the drummers seat as the boss changed from guitar to drums and then got another lead player.

Gotta go with B.C. Rich Mockingbird, own two and I love em. Also like the Firebird shape.

'13 G6136DC White Falcon (MIJ Professional Series) - Wanted one since 1963 and finally got (perhaps the last NOS example in existence) a couple years ago:

'11 Gibson LP '60s Tribute goldtop/P-90 - I keep this one around for the straight-up rock gigs (also makes an amazing surf guitar through my Frontman 212R):
