Default Old Hymn : For The Beauty of the Earth

Another one from my early days on this spinning orb. On my Simon & Patrick Songsmith. Thanks for tuning in!

Awesome! Too bad we can't see your fretting hand.

Yeah, this is one of my favorites. Stellar playing and arrangement, too. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Thanks Willie and Bob !
The arrangement is from the book “Fingerpicking Hymns” by Hal Leonard Publ., if you’re interested in learning it. I have to get the guitar soundhole close to my iPad for the best tone, (besides, my mouth goes into goofy contortions when I play new material,,,lol)

I may have to get that book. Doug Young's Hymns for Fingerstyle Guitar is also terrific, and I've learned a lot by using it.

That's beautiful, Chuck... I enjoyed it. It's one of my favorites too. It was sung at my mom's memorial service because she was such a fan of nature and the great outdoors. Hearing that one always means a lot to me.

Thank you, Kerbie. Some tunes that are from life’s milestones always get to me too.
Willie, that book I mentioned has fairly easy yet satisfying arrangements ,, probably a lot easier than Doug Young’s. All of Hal Leonard’s fingerpicking series books are like that,,,& inexpensive too. (btw, I have no affiliation with Hal Leonard or Music Dispatch)

I think this is my favorite hymn. Wish I could find the sheet music.
