I’ve purchased two high-end guitars from CME and had a great experience both times.

Both are very good. At CME, ask for Karl Neurauter.

I purchased my Froggy SJ from Wildwood Guitars and two from Wildwood Music.
They are both great to deal with.
Never delt with CME.

Wildwood Guitars in Louisville, CO- very good, hellacious selection, and they are negotiable. Be advised of their short return policy.

My experience with CME on the acoustic side was a seamless transaction—totally professional

I have purchased two instruments from CME and one (a pre-owned electric) from Wildwood and was treated well by both, particularly Wildwood, who made me feel like I was a VIP. Shipping was fast and well packaged by both, and set up was was great as well. I highly recommend both!

CME - bought from them several times (not guitars, but amps, effects, etc.). Would highly recommend.

Wildwood in CO . . . can't recommend these guys strongly enough. Friendliest group of people I've encountered in years. I was in Denver on business and stopped here during some down time. These guys went out of their way to dig guitars out for me to try, even though I made it clear I probably wouldn't be buying that day. They talked to me a good while, gave me a free T-shirt and were overall some of the best folks I've ever dealt with.

The fact that they dug out guitars for me to try may not sound like much, but unless you've been to their store, you wouldn't understand. See, they have a TINY storefront with very little on display. The vast majority of their stock is in the adjacent warehouse. You can look at their inventory on line and they will go next door to the warehouse and find the exact item/sn you want to look at and bring it to you.

VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I just received a Santa Cruz from CME and it was an excellent transaction from start to finish. Best packing job I've ever seen!

Their price was on the high side, so I shot them an offer and it was accepted within minutes. And the guitar was exactly as advertised.

As for Wildwood in CO, I have been there. It was an hour or so well-spent, great staff! Talked to the owner for a while about a Tele that he had sold to B. Springsteen that I had just seen BS play in concert in Kansas City. Cool guy, great store! Really good website, too.

Got my Martin custom through Wildwood in OH since they seemed to be pretty much the only ones stocking deep body OM customs. Rock bottom price and got exactly what I wanted. The owners are super friendly and pretty old fashioned, so if you’re wanting online purchasing and someone to pick up the phone the second you call, they may not be your cup of tea. But if you’re looking for the best prices on high end guitars and some of that midwestern charm, they’re your ticket.

I dealt with CME several times and they are outstanding in many ways. Never had the chance to visit Wildwood, but rumor has it that they are exceptional, as well.

I’ve bought several guitars from CME on Reverb. All of them were used. Every time CME was excellent to work with. I’d highly recommend them.

Haven't had any experience with CME or Wildwood in Ohio but I've had many dealings with Wildwood in Louisville CO. My Gibson was bought used there and all my Strymon pedals were bought there. I can't say enough about their helpful staff, they just plain rock! Really good folks.

Wildwood in Ohio is only open certain days of the week, but the shop is nice and their inventory was what I was looking for (they are not too far from me so was there in person.) I would recommend them. No experience with CME or Wildwood in Colorado.

Since November...

I have bought two acoustic guitars from Chicago Music Exchange.

One is a $999 Martin GPCRSGT and the other is a $2099 Gibson J-45 with cutaway.

Both blew away the examples I have played locally.

Both are keepers and the service was excellent.
