Well done! Nice harmony, too; I especially like the "Goodbye to Rosie" section

I don't play in public nor do I sing, but if I did both, I would have "American Pie" in my set list.

I play primarily at parties and family gatherings. These are some of the songs that I like to think are in the "sweet spot" - that is, songs that both younger and older generations can appreciate and sing along with.

Free Fallin' - Tom Petty
Summer of 69' - Bryan Adams
Shine - Collective Soul
Give A Little Bit - Goo Goo Dolls/Supertramp
Home - Daughtry
One - U2
3 AM - Matchbox 20
Photograph - Nickelback
Bad Moon Rising - CCR
The World I Know - Collective Soul
December - Collective Soul
Slide - Goo Goo Dolls
Fresh Prince of Bel Air - Will Smith

I heard a nice acoustic rendition of "Everlong" by Foo Fighters. Its all power chords, and in drop D... should take all of 5 minutes to learn.

Default Easy Pub Songs:

Here are some sure-fire crowd pleasers most everybody knows. They're also incredibly easy to play. Be careful with them though, cause if you lay it on too think you'll come off pandering or veer into karaoke zone.

Sweet Child of Mine
Used to Lover Her But I had to Kill Her
Every Rose....
Don't Worry Be Happy
Because I got High
Last Kiss
What's Going On?
Free Falling
Mary Jane's Last Dance
Stay (Just a Little Bit Longer)
Hide Your Love Away
Sweet Caroline
Blister in the Sun
Mellow Yellow

And of Course ... the immortal American Pie

Wow! I was going to post my set list and see if I could get some ideas on more tunes. Then I found this thread! Yikes, now I have at least 15 new songs to start working on. You guys rock!

Much of my set list is already on this thread but here are a few more for ya all have easy chord progressions and most have vocals you can either drop an octave or reach with no problems:

Up tempo:

Lola-The Kinks
Have You Ever Seen The Rain-CCR
Ziggy Stardust- Bowie
Mothers Little Helper- Stones
Psycho Killer- Talking Heads
It Don't Come Easy- Ringo Starr
Cool Change- Little River Band
All Along The Watchtower(I can't believe this wasn't listed already)
Story In Your Eyes- Moody Blues
Signs-5 Man Electrical Band/Tesla
Space Oddity-Bowie
Star Rider-Foreigner
From The Beginning-ELP (great acoustic intro, sounds awesome but is simple)

Not so up-tempo
Turn The Page-Bob Seger
Wild Horses-Stones
Let It Be-Beatles
Working Class Hero- John Lennon
Brain Damage- Pink Floyd
Wish You Were Here- Floyd

The best song in my set so far is Harry Chapin's Cats In The Cradle.

Hope these are useful!

Default Up tempo

Up tempo? You want uptempo?
Try "Wipeout" -- the crowd can play the drum solo(s) on their tables
Everything will work out perfectly
