I don't get very far in a lot of the videos posted here, but I couldn't turn this one off! Great Stuff!

A J Lee is the premier female voice in Bluegrass today, and adept at all genres of music. One can see why the Tuttle Family gave her special billing when she was 6 or so. She matured to a wonderful alto range voice and great mandolin chops. Check out any videos up of A J with her band Blue Summit.

Today's the first i've heard of either of these people. I've been listening to this clip all day just enthralled. It's brought back to me what a great joy and gift music is to us all.

Molly Tuttle's career took off. A.J. still hides in the weeds.
Love the video. Love the organic nature of the recording. Awesome.

To everyone: you may think you have something better to do for the next five minutes, but you do not.

Moving to Nashville, or northern VA no doubt would help her career with awards and so on, but that shouldn't be a necessity. A lot of west coast bands have played under the radar over the years, even with videos and other sources. But with a voice like hers and a solid band, she can't remain hidden for ever. |

My goodness, that's just flat out wonderful. Sent me down the youtube rabbit holes of both AJ Lee and of the Comatose Brothers. Seems they only have one other song together on youtube. Really delightful music. They're great regardless, but she starts singing and its all over for me...

I like this performance as much (maybe more) than Mr. Young’s. Wonderful!

I've had the pleasure of seeing AJ Lee with Blue Summit a few times this year and they put on a thoroughly enjoyable show. Great playing, singing, songwriting and interpretation of songs by others too. |
