The Tak has a solid rosewood back (laminate sides), the Rod looks to be laminate back and sides. The Tak has a truss rod, I don't think the Rod does.
I can't find pricing on the Rod, I assume they are close, price wise. I have owned Taks in the past, good guitars with really good electronics, never owned or played a Rodriguez....so, I'm no help

I miss my Takamine 132..Should never have sold it.

I owned a Takamine 32 classical guitar for a while. My left hand hated that wide fat neck. Selling it was the best move I made.

The Tak 132 has a deep neck, the beefiest neck I can recall having played.
