I went to two music stores today, played a bunch of guitars... Just came home and started playing mine... I am still happy with what I have... No more guitars for me...

Wow, here's my second post on this thread. As time goes past, I'm loving my only guitar more and more... more than when I first posted on here. Probably because I changed my bridge pins and saddle, sanding them down to fit. Then adjusting my truss rod and experimenting new strings, finding my favorite is Ernie Ball 80/20 Light 2004's.

I have a few guitars that sound and play really nice. I am happy with them. I play some nice guitars in stores but I am not compelled to trade mine in.

I am extremely happy with main guitar line up, both acoustic and electric. These are the ones I will never part with.

Now that doesn’t mean I won’t make room and add something else to the hoard down the road.

Love my group of guitars. I have 7 when I intended to have no more than 5. Need based? Could get along with 1 or 2, especially during the pandemic, but at this point in my life, need based doesn’t have to enter into it. Love having a variety of sizes, ahapes, tonewoods, and builders. Quite spoiled. Except for the RK dirty 30s I took in trade for a RB Continental gig bag and intended to sell, I haven’t acquired a guitar for almost 3 years. If I never acquire another guitar, I’ll still be happy about what I have. All that said, I love guitars and how unique they can be. It’s one area of my life where I think of change as something to look forward to. No doubt being pretty much quarantined since March makes me think about having a new to me guitar much more frequently. I believe that there have been at least 3 or 4 here in the classifieds I have given pretty serious consideration over the last few months. Sure met some nice folks here on the forum talking about them too.

Jeff

In 2014 I ordered an HD-35 from Musician's Friend. Came in the original factory box unopened. Didn't know what to expect. The strings were tuned down a whole step, where I like it. The action was superb. I'm a machinist so am comfortable with setting things up. I noticed capoing at the 7th fret it would slightly fret out, minimal buzz. I redressed and crowned the last 6 frets probably 7-10 thousands and pure heaven. It's 1/16th inch at the 12th fret both sides and can't get any buzz. Neck, no relief, straight as an arrow. A freak.

Through trial and error, I am quite content with the 2 Taylors I have in my signature. If I was to get another guitar, it would be the Taylor 224ce-K dlx but honestly, the 2 I have were thought out, discussed, and serve a purpose. Now as far as my ukuleles go, I am trying to trim the fat with those, but that's another topic for another forum

Only playing for a bit over two years and I feel very fortunate to have the guitars I have. Content? Who knows. I can see selling one or two to get something else. Gas comes and goes but I feel my three main guitars are all quite different and lets a beginner like myself experience different guitars, sounds, string combinations and I find it all very motivating to continue on with this rewarding journey.

It's a great feeling to finally feel more than happy with the guitars I currently own. Has anyone else reached that point yet? If so, how long did it take you? It's certainly a great feeling and I hope everyone can experience it!
Fer Sure! For me it's a product of age as much as anything. My Taylors (110e and 814ce DLX) do everything I need and want and I'm in my late 60s and satisfied. Ironic that I play two of your very instruments aeisen93!

Yeah that's awesome! The 814ce and 110 are great. I bought my 814ce in 2006 and my 110 in 2008. I believe I will always have them.
