Not uncommon though. I found a great deal on a case at one point and had an expiring discount code so I placed an order with them. The next day I received notification the item was out of stock but I wouldn't be billed until shipping. Fine, I thought. 3 to 4 weeks later another notice came saying the order had been cancelled. When I called to inquire I was told I could "reorder" the item at a new, higher price and my discount would not be applied. I haven't ordered from them since.

I'm grateful that my order of two packs has not been canceled.

However, it is back-ordered without an expected ship date - and MF has my funds.

I just got email notification From GC that my order has shipped. Complete with a UPS tracking number. My GC account shows the same. That’s more than a month earlier than the 9/20 estimated shipping date. Weird. We’ll see...

Well I checked my two GC accounts as for some reason I couldn't get into my main account.

Apparently both purchases have gone through and I have tracking numbers. These will be sent to my local GC store. The first order should be there Wednesday and the second order the following Monday.

So the GC rep who told me there were positively no more of these strings to be sent out was wrong, wrong, wrong. But he was polite.

My first set it is at my local Guitar Center and I plan to pick it up later today. None of my guitars really requires a restringing but at least I can confirm ... or not ... that I got the strings. I will update this later today if I go out.

I just picked up my first order of three sets from my local GC. The second set is due in Monday. It's coming from a GC in California so a long journey to me.

A pure guess on my part but I think the original September whatever date was based upon expectation of Guitar Center getting some more in from its supplier. Then somebody decided to speed things along and offering to sell some of the existing stock in the various GC stores. That's what the GC rep told me when I called some time ago.

I hope you get it OK. I ordered some gear from China and according to the tracking it cleared U.S. Customs on Aug. 9 ... and not a word since then. And it's a Chinese shipping company and I don't have the crossover USPS tracking number so I have no idea what has happened to it. I can understand an item being held up by U.S. Customs but the tracking said it cleared. I've asked the seller to help me.

This sounds like a total computer snafu.

I'm sure some will get that great deal, while others, seemed to have their orders cancelled.

I'm thinking, Musicians Friend suddenly realized the computer error and tried to correct as best as possible.

No big loss for Musician's Friend and a nice bargain for some consumers.
