Talking Pono OO-30V / Cedar over Rosewood

Hello AGF'ers! I've have a very near mint Pono OO for sale (easy 9.5/10). This is a fantastic cedar/rosewood small body, and I really like wood choices John and crew at Pono chose for this stunning OO. I believe it is the only OO-30V made as I specially ordered it for myself a couple years back. She has a Canadian red cedar top over an Indonesian rosewood back and sides. I really love it for fingerpicking (multiple styles) or solo leads with a pick, and for a small bodied guitar she really has a lot of volume. What you've been waiting for, the pictures:

Specs of the Pono OO-30V:

12 Frets to body
Top: Solid Canadian Red Cedar
Back & Sides: Solid Indonesian Rosewood
Neck: Mahogany
Fretboard/Bridge/Pins: Macassar Ebony
Binding: Maple
Purfling: Herringbone
Nut: 1 3/4”
Spacing: 2 1/4”
Scale: 24.75
Bone Nut & Saddle

I am the original owner of this Pono, purchasing it direct from John Kitakas/Pono guitars. I have kept the guitar in its case when not being played, supported by two oasis humidifiers in the case and keep it in my guitar room which I keep between 40-45* RH.

I would ship the guitar Fed Ex (3 Business Days or similar) to keep the shipping cost down and not on the truck too long. Please PM me with any questions or if you are in Denver and would like to come by and try out the guitar (please do!). I would like to get $800 OBO and add $75 for shipping. Thanks for looking!

Paul - Have him PM me if he's interested in playing the guitar, it's a fantastic instrument. I'm not playing much lately, cycling has taken over and there is a new ride in my future

I had a couple PM's that I thought the answers might help others:

Neck shape: the neck shape is more like a "D" and has a more modern feel similar to a taylor neck, definitely not thick or chunky.

Case included: Of course, it's an original hardshell Pono case, which is very nice btw. Weekend is busy, but I can get some case photos (guitar in and empty) up ASAP.

Audio: I can try to do a sound clip, I have a blue microphone that I used to use, just have to find a way to import the audio file to AGF. This might take a little longer to post, but I'll see what I can do.

Tone: For a small bodied guitar, the volume is definitely there whether you were playing a small coffee shop gig or house concert. The guitar excels at finger style playing, very lush with overtones (cedar/rosewood combo) and even from string to string. Think lush, overtones galore, sparkle & sweet. Can use a pick, but I would stick to lighter strumming in general then. Does work well for any solo line playing. Though I haven't used a bunch of alternate tunings on this guitar, I'm sure it would handle that fine, mostly used for playing classical or irish finger style pieces.

Please PM me with any other questions, and if in the Denver area, I'm located in Englewood. Come on over and try out the guitar, I'll just mute the playoff games

I have the mahogany cousin to this guitar and it's spectacular. I'd jump on this one if I had extra casho. Good luck with the sale!

Thanks Bmish! It's a great guitar, just not playing much over the past two years or so.

I had a request for measurements:

Depth @ Lower bout at end pin: 4 3/8"

Depth @ Upper bout at neck joint: 3 1/2"

Measurement across top at upper bouts: 10"

Measurement across top at lower bouts: 14 1/2"

Length of body from neck joint to end pin: 19"

Hope this helps, contact me if you have any questions!

Also pictures of the case:
