ToneDexter II - first national TV spotting

If live acoustic guitars had sounded this good 10 years ago, I would not have endeavored to create ToneDexter. Very rewarding to hear the fruits of our labor (in triplicate!) on this first national TV spotting of ToneDexter II in action.

Yes. Anytime three or more ToneDexters are gathered on the same stage, a mysterious vortex forms and all bad tone is sucked into a black hole, never to be heard again

The guitars sounded really sweet. It shows what the TD can produce in such a setting.

All in all the sound was great. Like listening to a mastered CD rather than live band. The vocals (particularly the harmonies) were almost too perfect to be "real". But that's the way things are today - there's a lot of good kit available for live playing.

God I hate piezo quack!!!! The TDII does a great job in the video James has posted and the musicians obviously have great faith in his engineering to give them a highly professional live performance sound. If I ever find the need to plug in for gigs then I would certainly consider going down the ToneDexter route. But I've not got beyond just using a mic' yet for the sort of places I play.

Mind you, back in the day, a pencil mic' and a Dean Markley Woody wasn't too bad (no quack at least!!!) for foh and broadcast sound and I do like a bit of bark left on the trees for the vocals rather than having them cleaned up. But then I'm a luddite!!!!

Well then, I'm glad they didn't sound this good 10 years ago, because the TDII is a masterpiece!

Any chance of more explanation for guitar pickups...why three?

There is only one review on youtube, and I guess it is sponsored too.
The outcoming sound is muddy and requires further EQ.
So either the review by Aaron is pointless due to incorrect procedure, or the difference is in the pickups and in the Eq applied by the sound engineers in the studio.
I'd really like to see an independent review!
