Default ToneDexter II paralleling two outputs for Strymon

Hi gang,

Could some please show me the required cable/procedure for this paralleling process that will enable TDII use with the Strymon Ojai?

Many thanks!

Jenn Martin, who is LOVING TDII!!!

I am using the Ojai to power my TDII, and I have a current doubler handy like the one James posted- but I’ve been able to get away with just using the 12V setting on a single output and it starts up and runs AOK.

This brings up a couple of points:
  • Sometimes power supplies are rated rather conservatively and there is more power available than specified. Strymon have been known to do this.
  • Sometimes a 12V output will provide more power than a 9V output, even though both are rated for the same total power in watts.

The takeaway is that if the voltage is in the range of 9V-15V, it's safe to try it. Just be warned that if it is right on the hairy edge, it might work on Monday but not on Tuesday. I've had tech support calls to this effect.

Thanks, James- I know all power isn’t the same, and I may be pushing my luck. But I keep the current doubler in my pedalboard bag just in case.
