Default Help! Fake or Authentic Fender Acoustasonic

Hello

I am hoping to buy a used a Fender Acoustasonic Stratocaster. The seller has receipts and authentication papers that match the serial number on the neck plate.

Problem is the serial number on the neck plate returns a same model guitar with different color.

Attached are photos.

I need help: Is this guitar authentic or a partscaster?

no photos to see here

I'd contact Fender's customer service, that's probably your best shot at getting to the bottom of it.

Google ACOUSTASONIC STRAT, TSNB (the description the serial comes back to). You will see multiple stores with it for sale that look just like this one and all say they are transparent sonic blue. I'm guessing the blue is REALLY transparent.

Not that familiar with this finish, but it seems the transparent part is that the clear coat is tinted. So you only get the blue when light hits it a certain way.

Well yes but that is the problem. There is an actual sonic blue color. This is natural finish color and I'm concerned someone replaced just the neck or neck plate.

Just needing some opinions on whether this is authentic partscaster or refinsh

This is the model that the serial number returns, and it looks like the correct guitar to me...

The natural finish looks a lot more yellow than this does. I still say it is the correct finish.

There's nothing that would indicate that its not authentic. If you're worried then pick up a new one from a reputable retailer (and get a discount!). These have come down in price recently, so do your research.

That would be a hell of a lot of work and talent needed to fake an instrument that sells for $1,200 used. If someone faked that, they are losing money in the process.

I'm guessing they mean "Transparent/Sonic Blue" as in a transparent top with a (Sonic) blue bridge, saddle, pickup and knobs. What's "sonic" about a color is a topic for a different day.
