Default Recordings: Maton Dual Source direct and the Maton in Tonedexter.

2 test tracks with my Maton SRS808
First part is AP5-Pro pickup with internal mic direct to mixer.
Second part is piezo of AP5-pro only but run to Tonedexter file and then to mixer.

Both versions have a splash of reverb and the 2nd one is a bit louder..my fault! Tune from a David Hamburger lesson....

Wonderful playing. If you were playing with a crappy sound I probably wouldn’t care. But since this is a pickup thread I would say both sound good but the Tonedexter would be my preference.

+1 on the Tonedexter, it just sounds better. Nice playing too.

Thanks for your demos and nice playing! I prefer the ToneDexter track. Takeaway: The ToneDexter track sounds more up-front because, and correct me if I'm wrong, it's a bit louder than the first track. Secondly, there is a bit of hollowness to the ToneDexter track that can likely be eliminated with different mic positioning when generating WaveMaps.

I like the ToneDexter better. But, the Maton system is totally usable, otherwise.

I wonder if everyone would have liked the first section more if the second one was not louder, my mistake somehow - I had the same level setting and should have turned TD down a frac....

Good news for the guitar is it sounds great plugged direct to a mixer etc, long as it has batteries and a guitar lead. If I want to be loud, it needs the soundhole plug!

To take TD, I need an extra lead and a power supply with extension lead at a club I know, for example. No drama! Remember the settings? Not yet! A little bit unsure of things.....

And mic positioning ha ha, I have tortured the poor little this week!
