There’s been quite a bit of info/opinions regarding these. I believe if you use the search function it will pull the related threads up. Some great info available.

I'm a Fender fan on the whole, but this guitar is not for me.

Wow, $2k for a Fender Tele. Seems like a lot but I've never heard of these before so I don't want to judge too quickly. Seems like a lot of money for a hybrid but I'd be interested in trying one out.
Marty, are you thinking of getting one? |

Not sure if I want one. But looked interesting. Been thinking of getting an electric guitar and thought hmmmm, Best of both worlds?

I can't see that guitar sounding like a Tele. A big part of the Tele's tone is the bridge plate and this guitar has a wooden acoustic one. Doesn't mean it wouldn't have a nice electric tone though.

If a player were on stage and wanted to start out a song acoustically and then shift over to a more typical electric sound, this guitar would allow you to do that. It doesn't sound bad at all as an electric guitar, but to me the acoustic sounds come across as rather "quacky," piezo sounding. But I can see the need or at least desire for something like this. For home use or home studio use I find this guitar less appealing. I have a real Tele, made in Mexico with American pickups and electronics, that sounds very good and cost way less than this guitar. And I have plenty of acoustics to cover the bases. But it's certainly an interesting guitar. I can understand the appeal for some folks. - Glenn

It’s Fender’s version of a Taylor T5. Fender hired the same guy that worked for Taylor on the development of the T5. The Acoustasonic has a different sensor and pickup configuration, modeling circuitry to generate a variety of acoustic guitar options, a 25.5” scale length compared to 24 7/8”, and similar pricing.

I don’t care for how it looks. Subjective I know, but it looks like a cheap guitar from Kmart.

Blew me away
I, too, was skeptical of this. I’ve learned that as impressive as the videos and marketing may be, I have to try things in person to give a fair opinion. I was expecting to be underwhelmed. Boy, was I wrong. These acoustic sounds are anything but piezo sounding. That’s because there is some pretty sophisticated computer modeling going into these tones. The fact that you can cleans the two tones per setting is great - especially combining the acoustic dreadnaught sound with the magnetic pickup.
I went into my local store twice to play this and walked out with the sunburst model. It plays very smooth and easy and sounds way bigger than it is. The fact it is feather light and very resonant is just icing on the cake.
