You can't go wrong with the loudbox mini, but there are a lot of newcomers in this space that are good choices and at a slightly lower price point.

The Vox VX50 AG gets good reviews - 2 channels and weighs a whopping 9 lbs. $229.00

Bugera AC60 - 2 channels, great reviews at $249.

If you don't want to sing through it, the Yamaha THR5A is a great little amp and also runs on batteries. $199

They can work but it's not the same, and I have to get back to work so can't do a big explanation now.

To the OP. I got a cheap Acoustic brand acoustic amp some years ago that has been perfect for a non-pro. It might not have been $100 at a Guitar Center blow out sale. Others have thought it sounds plenty fine. At the moment I don't have any acoustic guitar use but it's great for my drum machine pedal.

I will not put down some of the fine stuff mentioned here but an associate who owns a mostly used gear store and who does sound professionally was right telling me that I don't need to spend $100 for the simple and not critical use.

Another strong vote for the Fishman Loudbox Mini.

Also, your Taylor will sound much better plugged in if you install a K&K Pure Mini pickup. I've converted my 3 Taylors and couldn't be happier!

$300 price ?

You cannot go wrong with the Fishman Loudbox Mini. They sell them at GC for around $325. But you can find used ones for around $225.

These are really excellent sound and simple to use...
Plus it's small "mini" size would lend itself to your purpose.
Easy to tote from room to room.

My Fishman Loudbox Mini works very nicely with my Tele.

Loudbox mini is a great amp. I eventually ended up with a Loudbox performer, but the mini I had was fantastic, and had sufficient oomph for most uses.

i've only played a couple of these less expensive
amps. Acoustisonic was nice But i was impressed by the
loudbox mini. for its size i thought it sounded pretty good.

Since you mention potential use with an electric guitar, perhaps consider a single powered PA speaker. Such speakers will generally work well for amplifying an acoustic guitar, especially if you use an acoustic guitar and/or vocals effects unit like one of the several Helicon VoiceLive units, and can also work well with electric guitar effects units and modellers. Otherwise you're likely going to want to buy separate amps which are optimized for each application.

I am also a fan of the Loudbox Mini, but as a nice alternative, a used Ultrasound AG-30 might make an excellent choice. https://reverb.com/item/3630769-exc-...itar-amplifier I recommend avoiding the very cheapest of amplification if you want to hear the tone of your Taylor and not just the amp.

I agree that you should never buy the lowest model in any line. Look for a pre-owned Fishman Loudbox Artist and you’ll be glad you did.

I’m not known as usually going for cheap stuff but as a fellow non-performer here I’m still saying what I don’t think topped $70 worked out really well. As guitar amp or PA, the only comments I every got have been along the lines of “thanks for bringing it”. When I go to the area shop known for used gear I see lots of options just like it. I just searched Guitar Center and see there’s $39-49 stuff like it all over the country.
