1965 Martin D-28 retopped by Martin with AAA red spruce
This is a 1965 Martin D28 with gorgeous Brazilian rosewood back and sides with intense quartersawn grain with spider-webbing figure. It was re-topped by Martin in 2010 with AAA Adirondack / red spruce using forward-shifted 5/16" scalloped bracing, small maple bridge plate, and all hide glue construction. The inside of the soundboard was signed by Milt Hess Jr., head of the Martin repair shop. The back has 4 cracks that were also repaired and cleated by Martin in 2010 and are completely stable. It has Waverly tuners with ivoroid buttons. 1 11/16" width bone nut, bone thru saddle, with medium-low action. Original neck with steel T-bar.
This unique instrument sounds incredible like only old Brazilian and red spruce does and it plays easily. I am working on getting Photobucket account established and photos uploaded to this ad. Additional photos available upon request. $7,000 certified check or Paypal + ~3%, shipped in a 3-ply TKL case in the continental United States.
