For cool factor, and a functioning acoustic, I have to say Wechter Pathmaker double cutaway. Some were imports and some were made in Michigan. The imports don't sell for much and some have a very good Artec 3-way pickup system with onboard blender.

Wow! You don't see many Wechter guitars out there. I have two buddies that play them. They're very cool.

I like that Wechter above! Here's another option. No idea how it plays, but it sounds decent in this video. All solid woods (spruce and mahogany), cutaway, electronics, cool stratocaster looking neck, and under a thousand bucks.

I think the OP's priority on appearance and coolness is his own business.

Why should I insist there's only one right way that everyone must conform to?
I try to just let people vary, unless they're committing crimes.

This seems like the question-" How does this photograph sound?" I thought that people got guitars to make music , not visual impressions. "Hit me with your best shot-fire away."

Just want to say that I admire your graciousness toward those who have given you less than a warm welcome. Shows that a "dumb teenager" can be more mature than some much older people. Welcome. All in all, folks here are generally a very friendly lot.

We all buy guitars for different reasons. And those reasons often change with time and playing experience. Your reasons aren't mine, but I wish you well in your search.
