'72-73 Saga HD-308 (D-18 copy)
Came upon this Saga D-18 copy that needed some work - had my luthier re-glue a couple of finger braces, give it a new nut, install a K&K Pure Mini, do a full clean & set-up (.13-56 John Pearse strings), & this thing sings. Lots of vibe, lots of sustain. Super stable old wood. The fingerboard is Brazilian Rosewood, back & sides solid mahogany, solid Sitka spruce top.
Added a Reunion Blues case, will include some extra strings. Need $775/shipped, no fee payment method. Cheers! luk https://soundcloud.com/ls-spotify/sa...social_sharing Last edited by lucky; 03-26-2024 at 10:13 AM. |

Hard to beat some of these Martin clone guitars made in Japan during the 70's and early 80's..........especially at the price points.
GLWYS! Jim

Big thanks Jim! You are correct sir - this is an example of the pristine craftsmanship of this era of guitars from Japan. Upon inspection of the inside of the guitar with a light & mirror, my local luthier commented, "It looks like someone actually gave a sxxt about building this thing!"
Great guitar! |
