Very nice, specially for a 4th guitar!
Are you self taught or did you go to a luthierie class/school? |

thanks for the compliments, I am self taught, have not taken a class of attended a luthier school. Everything i have learned so far in my short luthierie career has either been through reading books, or capturing information from other great luthiers on forums like AGF and OLF, as well as having a mentor in Jason Simpson of Simpson Guitars assist me whenever i have some questions!
Michael, so far i have liked the A4 kerf linings. Sometimes i do wish i had a bit thicker lining but A4 is so easy to maneuver specially given my 9' radius back and smells SOO good! Jonathan |

Jonathan,
You are extremely creative and the work looks fantastic! Do you have a website? How do people find you to learn your pricing and get order information? It would be good to learn if there are models you do or don't craft and the dimensions of the models you build. Really beautiful. Thanks for sharing, Mike

Hi Jonathan,
I just had to comment... I love the little extra you did in the top at the waist and cutaway. Just enough without going overboard... I think a sign of a true craftsman is not only being able to do something, but being able to know when that something is just the right amount. It really adds that something special to the guitar. Bravo!

I got to play this guitar today in a quiet environment and I'm really impressed! Beautiful sound from this instrument. Intonation was spot-on up the neck, and the sound delivered ranges from punchy/clear on strumming to smooth and articulate for fingerstyle. The volume from this guitar was surprising and thanks to the double soundports in the side I was hearing a lot more bass than I expected from up above the guitar. Out front, the guitar sounds very clear, every note distinguishable.
This is Jonathan's 4th guitar and his quality is much higher than you would expect from someone new to this craft. It's a beautiful instrument to see and hold. Everyone at the guitar store was in awe of this one. Attention to detail is very very good - not perfect, but I expect that the smallest details in his work will improve with time and experience. What is most impressive to me is the artistic details and the sound quality from a guitar that is freshly strung... and this one will only sound better in time as it opens up. Jonathan, if you'd like to link to your website from the AGF and sell your guitars here, our sponsorship prices start at $99/yr. Thanks in advance for reciprocating the support. J.R. Rogers |

That's quite an endorsement for such a new builder, J.R.! And judging from the pictures alone, it's well deserved, Jonathan.
At the risk of sounding like a sleazy used car salesman, great building is only part of building a business. Raising your visibility in the right circles (this one!) is another part. Not a requirement, but a warm invitation. cotten |

I got the opportunity to play this guitar yesterday. I was so impressed with how it looks, plays and sounds that I am now the proud owner of the guitar. I met Jonathan about a year earlier before he was building guitars and was pleasantly surprised to meet him again as a creative and aspiring guitar builder. I want to add a
pickup to the guitar which Jonathan will install for me. I know that's a personal subjective choice but I thought I'd tap the collective knowlege base here to get some feedback. |

Congratulations on this!! It really is a beautiful instrument. Any chance you can post pictures of the completed guitar? Sound clips would be a bonus...
Thanks, Mike
