D'Addario O-Port acoustic sound enhancer comparison sound clip
Ok, not very scientific, recordings done on two different days, but the mic and guitar are in the same position.
The first part is the Larrivee without the sound hole thingamagig and the second with it. The 2nd string sounds more pronounced, maybe the 3rd string a bit with the sound hole enhancer. Any other subtle differences are more than likely to do with the strings aging between recording dates and the recordings not done back to back. Who knows.

After listening several times and not having read your post, I think the First sound bite was more even in volume and also tonal characteristics.I much preferred the first recording to the second.
That is to say; I prefer the Larrivee without the sound hole thingamagig. A matter of sonic conjecture to be sure. Blues |
