Default In honor of Independence Day: The AGF Mount Rushmore

Who is on your "Mount Rushmore" of AGF contributors?

Here's mine:

Bob Womack
Glennwillow
Wade Hampton
ljguitar

Silly Moustache was in the running, but putting a Brit on Mt. Rushmore?

Give the man honorary American citizenship and then add him to your "Mount Rushmore". He deserves it.

Kind of a back hand insult. Maybe not a good idea for a thread.

I am not sure who you are referring to here, but my post was intended as a compliment to Silly Moustache because he is a very consistently valuable contributor here. If you mean the thread itself, it is rather strange. I just wanted to acknowledge Silly for his contributions in spite of that.

Also, a rather unfortunate aspect of a thread such as this is that there are many contributors, such as yourself, who may be overlooked. I mention "such as yourself" because I have been impressed and inspired for quite some time by your own posts as you have kept us all apprised of your progress as both an interpreter of other folks' compositions and your own. There is so much going on in these forums, with many people contributing to the wealth of information and inspiration, that it would be difficult to insure that all these folks get recognition. Best to do it in the threads in which they participate.

I wasn't referring to your post, just the theme of the thread. I beeped my horn, but it wasn't meant for the car in front of me

I vote for these, IMO, four American icons: Martin, Guild, Gibson, and Taylor.

It’s a little known fact the Mt. Rushmore was created by the US government to hide forever the existence of the lost city of gold. A group of courageous adventurers followed an intricate trail of clues, risking great personal danger, to discover this American treasure.

...yes one could choose to ignore the thread...but as well intentioned as the topic may be there is an element of exclusionism involved...(yes I made up the word exclusionism)...it’s bound to ruffle some feathers...and just as one may choose to ignore the thread they may choose to voice their thoughts on the subject...for myself there are a fair number of folks who I have come to expect thoughtful and informative posts from...way too many to single out a small group..

...that said I will take the opportunity to express my gratitude to all who contribute here and the fine folks behind the scene who make it possible...

Hi guys, firstly I know this is just a fun thread, and no offense was intended and no offence (see what I did there?)was taken.

I'm just very flattered to be mentioned.

BTW - In 2004 I played at the "beanstock Acoustical Music Festival" near Sherman Tx.
As only "jen-U wine" Texans were allowed to play, I underwent a ritual to become an honorary Texan. Don't that count?

Can't remember the details now but I know it involved some spirit called "JD"! I'll try to find my certificate!

All the best, and hope y'all had a great holiday!

Ol'Andy, (a limey)
(and thanks to tbeltrans for the kind words).
