Default Ultimate Toilet Paper Survey

I was in a contemplative mood this morning and thought “Hey, Acoustic Guitar Players are a widely recognized logical and thoughtful bunch. I wonder where they would land on this important topic?”

Give us the “why” should you choose to...and don’t forget to vote!

Over the front, of course, and preferably this brand.

Or people who have cats that use the TP roll as a treadmill!

It doesn't stop them completely, but if you have it go over the back the game is much less fun because the paper doesn't unroll.

Whichever way one’s spouse/significant other specifies. That’s my vote.

I used to be apathetic. Now, I just don't care.

I voted for over the top front. I also like a few sheets dangling, making it easier to find the beginning of the roll (or the end, if you prefer). When my wife uses the roll she gets rid of the hanging part that I like, then, it takes me 2 hands to free up the end/beginning. Oh well, if we were alike, then one of us is not necessary!

Red face

I have a friend who worked briefly for a (name and address withheld) Duke and Duchess, here in the UK. The Duchess insisted that the chamber maids fold the loose end of the loo roll to form a point.

The Duchess insisted on enforcing these petty little house rules, with such an obscene sense of entitlement that it makes you wonder if she even realised that half the world is starving.

That's the British class system for you. My friend could only take it for a couple of weeks.

End of rant!

_________

I voted loose end over the front - keeps yet-to-be-washed fingers off the wall.

I'm going to send this thread to Charming head office. They'll be able to use it in one of their commercials.

Over the top.

Not voting was not apathy on my part.
I didn't vote because the wording brings up a pet peeve.
On this subject the only "should" that belongs is: each person should install it whichever way they prefer.

The way the poll is worded implies there is only one single way that is correct for everyone.
That's problematic with TP rolls, as it is with a zillion other things.

An advice columnist, IIRC Dear Abby, said she got more mail on this subject than any other.
I'm always looking behind the curtain and asking, Why?.
IMO, instead of taking responsibility for what is merely personal preference, people avoid responsibility by aligning themselves with what they've been told is universally right or wrong ... even for something as mundane as toilet paper.
This is actually pretty hilarious.

All that said, I prefer TP hanging over the top.
Instead of defending it or proving my preference is superior or right (even if simply because over 50% also prefer it) I'll just say it's just this one person's preference.
I have my reasons for my preference, but so does the person with the other preference.

Also, more votes for one way doesn't mean the minority is wrong.
This is very important.
Democracy is supposed to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority.
