Yamaha LA series for me, bigger than a 000, with more curves than a dread.

shapes
I like clean and well-proportioned guitars. My very favorite shape is the 000 but there are plenty others that I also like very much. The Dread occupies the bottom space; the only things below it are cutaways and instruments with crazy headstock or bridge shapes.
All of which has nothing to do with how they sound or play.

#1 - The Gibson J-185 shape that has been adopted, and called a "small jumbo" by many small shops and boutique builders from Collings to Olsen
#2 - The classic Martin 12-frets, from the big dreds to 00s. #3 - The classic Gibson 14-fret slope shoulder. Now with that said, I own a #3 and an OM, because they tend to be so balanced and functional. The OM is new to me, and I should have bought one years ago, as I think they provide the best combination of balance, volume and comfort. P

Martin 12 fret designs.
I use 12 fret dreads (I have a bit of a problem calling them "slope shoulders - because they are the "real" and original design - 14 fretters are more the "squished down" shape ....could that catch on?) The original design is so much more ergonomic as well as beautiful. However the most aesthetically pleasing of all is the 00 12 fret shape. On the Gibson side - the original L-1, and the original 16" L-5.

My acoustic guitar will always have the cutaway. That's the shape I need, I play that far. Lots of bending and solo's for me.
