Default Speed Trap Town

This is kind of an obscure song from Jason Isbell. The announcers on the football game today kept talking about the “shallow cross,” which he mentions in the song, and it got stuck in my head. So I gave it a go—this is definitely not a polished version

Jason Isbell is my favorite songwriter to come along in the last several decades. Hope you like his tune.

Very nice, Bob! Sounds awesome! Well done!

I know about speed-trap towns!

Well done Bob!

Great choice of a tune… Isbell is a great writer. Performer too! I saw him in Red Rocks precovid.

Enjoyed it Bob! Many times unpolished makes the song a lot more authentic. This is one of them.

good morning, Bob!! Yeah, this ^^^ is my reaction too. One of your best, actually and I say that because the energy you put into it was obvious, the guitar part was really solid and good and it felt as though you really KNEW the song....nothing tentative in there, which really brings it.
Nice job!

Wow, you guys are really kind

Sal, your tenor would be great on some JI tunes, hint, hint.... I finally got to Red Rocks while in Denver last fall, but only to see the place, no concert. Had to make the pilgrimage even so. Inspiring. Really enjoyed the Colorado Music Hall of Fame museum, too.

Glenn, Fred, Rick, Murph--many thanks for taking the time. I appreciate the encouragement!
