Default Playing without hand movement noises

Before I waste a few hours - is the key to this playing without using your thumb to hold the neck?

No, hand noise. I've been doing some research and found the answer, thanks. Too much of my thumb (and at times my hand) is touching the back of the neck.

Don't know exactly what you consider a hand noise but not in general (there are some exceptions) using your thumb to
help hold the neck in say typical fingerstyle and classical guitar pieces is a non starter.

Pretty straight forward unless I misunderstood what you were implying your original post.
