Apparently, they're going to end the series with the events of 2003 that followed the deaths of Princess Margaret and the Queen Mother. Somehow, we'll have to see the Queen coming to terms with her fading glory and recovering the strength to fight off Charles' ambitions to serve as sovereign for another two decades.
I enjoyed it. Agreed on Dominic West, whom I still enjoyed (just a strange casting). It's a shame if they stop at 2003, as they would be leaving out a lot over the last 20 years, especially some of the more recent events (obviously, inc. the Queen's passing this year).

I've got as far as episode 7 with The Watcher starring Naomi Watts. That may be as far as I go with it.

The story involves a family who buy a magnificent house they can barely afford only to find that the neighbours are hostile and there is a mysterious person watching them and sending them sinister letters. Twists and turns in the plot were intriguing at first but have got a little tiresome. I think I've got to the point where I no longer care who is watching them!

Default Letterman with Volodymyr Zelensky

My Next Guest — Volodymyr Zelensky interviewed by Dave Letterman was interesting. I think this just dropped. If not, I just found it

Watched all of 1899 and thoroughly enjoyed it and am looking forward to where it goes in Seasons 2 & 3. The Making of 1899 was also very interesting but don't watch it until you have finished Season 1 as there will be spoilers. In terms of technological filming advancements, it's probably the TV equivalent of The Abyss or Avatar.

Yeah exactly what I felt. So bland, it really didn’t go anywhere. I understand it’s a true story, and the watcher was never found, but it felt like I wasted my time.

I know it's been mentioned here before, but we just finished watching "The Queen's Gambit".

I thought it was terrific, and my wife did too. Anya Taylor-Joy, in the lead role, was mesmerizing, and the supporting cast was excellent.

Who would have thought that a show about chess could be so enthralling?

An interesting film last night: Effie Gray, which was made in 2014, apparently.

Based on the true story of the art critic John Ruskin's unconsummated and eventually failed marriage to a much younger woman, it was a stifled, very English period piece. Not recommended if you're into space zombies and people leaping from helipcopters or multi-storey buildings!

Saw another excellent film some days ago - The Imitation Game - about the genius Alan Turing. Fascinating story, although I suspect the female love interest bit might have been concocted or embellished to create a leading female role (yay for inclusiveness! ). Still, it was very well done. It certainly increased my respect for Benedict Cumberbatch.

Google is your friend - the female love interest was actually true.

Just finished 'The Recruit' ... it was just 'Suits' re-written.

Good to hear. I imagine if it hadn't been, though, some 'restructuring' of facts would probably have been necessary!

FWIW at 1.05 a.m., I've just finished watching "The Forgotten War"

It is a Dutch feature film commemorating the desperate and relatively little-known Allied assault on the Scheldt estuary (Zeeland) in October and November 1944.
"When I went to the battlefield decades later with veterans of 47 RM Commando, they told me it was worse than D-Day because the Germans knew they were coming and had prepared stronger defences. Nearly 13,000 Allied soldiers were killed or wounded (about the same as the German casualties)".

We just finished Season 1 of The Sinner and thought it was excellent. A different twist on crime drama with high Tomato ratings. A bit quirky and leaves you wanting to see the next episode as the mystery unfolds. We thought this one was binge worthy.
