I saw the tour that video is from, in October '19. That was the first time I'd seen Genesis Revisited, although I have see Genesis seven times, starting on April 14, 1973 (their first time in the US; they were one of two opening bands for It's A Beautiful Day, the other being Sylvester and the Hot Band) up through the summer of '77 (W&W tour).

I have seen Steve a few times with his own band, along with a trio tour (Steve, his brother John, and Roger King) and a solo acoustic tour about 20 years ago, at my local, now defunct, Borders Books & Music. It is amazing how this music never gets old.

I am neck deep diving into anything POCO. I don't know if its the ending of the summer season that has me reminiscing about those teenaged summer days and nights, I'm not sure. I had the time back then to play music almost non stop. Acoustic and electric guitars, drums and percussion all at my disposal.

Every Wednesday night at the BandShell in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, the young bands would come and showcase there skills. As I walked down the aisle to get a look at the band, over the PA comes “and thanks to frankie from Bishop Ford HS for teaching us the guitar and vocals to this next number” It was Amie by POCO.

I played with this drummer occasionally during his early years with POCO, in a jazz fusion band I was the bassist for.

He also used to do a drum festival in Cuyahoga Falls; we played there one year with George.

Thank you for that, Jeff. Terrific site that is. They(POCO)have had some history over the last fifty four years.

That fellow George Lawrence is some hired gun. What a resume he’s got.
Thank you again.
