I may still be misunderstanding you, but the lower G string on. 12-string guitar pair is the same pitch as the low (4th) G on a mandolin. The pitch of that octave (plain) G string on that 12-string guitar is found on the 5th fret of mandolin’s D (3rd) string. Both of the top strings (A and E) of the mandolin are tuned higher than the 12-string’s octave G.

Hi all,
Thank you for your comments and suggestions, theyre really welcome. I have 11-38 80/20 strings on there at the moment. I have ordered sa variety of strings including 11's and 10's. The action feels really good to me it is the tension complience of the strings that is getting to me. Time to experiment. Thanks |
