Arrow ***SOLD***2021 Goodall Grand Concert Cocobolo/Master German

For sale is a 2021 James Goodall Grand Concert in beautifully figured Cocobolo rosewood and master grade German spruce. As you would expect, this guitar has that classic Goodall overtone heavy sound but with marked articulation across the entire fretboard (watch video for a pro shot demo…use headphones for the full effect). Interestingly, this is the only Goodall that I’ve ever come across that is bound in East Indian rosewood and it adds to the mystique of the guitar. It is in excellent/near mint condition. The only issue is an odd indention on the side near the butt of the guitar (see last two photos, one zoomed in and the same area zoomed out). I have no idea what would have caused this but it’s barely noticeable. It comes with the original branded Ameritage case. I am selling this guitar as I had the opportunity to buy back another Goodall I sold a while ago that I never should have let go. I am therefore not interested in trades. Price reduced to $OLD and will cover ground shipping at that price (assuming a fee free payment method (i.e., PayPal F&F)). This is a steal on this guitar.

This guitar was originally sold by The North American Guitar so I’m including a mix of their photos and a few of my own. The guitar is currently strung with light/medium Elixir phosphor bronze strings but any gauge will work with this top. Note that the video was done with light gauge strings.

Specs:
James Goodall Grand Concert Guitar (Serial # CGC6934)
Top: Mastergrade German Spruce
Back/Sides: Cocobolo Rosewood
Binding: East Indian Rosewood (neck is bound in this as well)
Headstock Overlay: Ebony
Frets: 14 to body (Evo gold)
Scale: 25.5”
Nut: 1 ¾”
String Spacing: 2 ¼”
Nut/Saddle: Bone
Pins: Ebony

Here is The North American Guitar description of this guitar:
Goodall's effortless-to-play Grand Concert model is smaller mid-sized guitar that was designed with versatility in mind. It's large enough to tackle some flatpicking, but with this combination of master-grade German spruce and cocobolo, it's a natural fit for lush, solo fingerstyle. German spruce offers up an enticing balance of clarity and responsiveness, which is notable. A light pick of the finger and notes ring out with ease. Matched with cocobolo's nuanced, overtone-heavy sustain, this Grand Concert has a voice with the complexity and liveliness needed to stand on its own.

I have sold a number of guitars on the forum and Reverb and would be happy to provide references. Feel free to send any questions my way and thanks for looking.

What a great guitar. Quite a collection of Ryans and Goodalls, must take a lot of hours per day playing all those beauties!

Haha! To my wife’s perpetual annoyance, it certainly does. Thanks for the kind words about this Goodall. It’s a killer guitar.

That’s a stunningly beautiful guitar, and I’d be all over it if I hadn’t recently bought a redwood/Macassar Goodall GC. Someone should buy your guitar!

Thanks, David! The video is a very accurate representation of the tone that comes out of this box. The Goodall clan definitely knows what they are doing.
