1. 4K Video downloader. All I have to do is paste the youtube link into the software and it downloads to its default folder or a folder I specify.

2. Transcribe! Not free software, but you can loop videos/wav files, etc. slow them down, speed them up, raise the pitch (capo) or lower it. To see videos I had to download Gstream.

Not sure if the above are available for non PC computers.
The features are available on a mac. With version 9.21.00 for mac I didn't have to download Gstreamer. I did notice that if the video doesn't show up initially "show video" is in the view menu and worked for me.

Vidami seems a perfect solution not cheap. I think I will spring for one as it is perfect for what I need. David Pots has a 10% promo code “Songnotes10” so it puts the cost at around $206. Using software but it takes a few steps and you need a pedal to make it hands free like Vidami. 30 day return policy.

One related option that might be worth considering if you’re already contemplating one: some of the modeling practice amps come with functions to do YouTube looping

For example, I have a Spark 40, and its app lets you load a YouTube video (as well as several other sources) and then you can select a portion of the video, loop the selection, slow down the selection, etc.

It’s a bit overkill / expensive to buy one solely for that feature, but if you’re considering one anyway for other reasons and also care about YouTube manipulation for practicing, it might become an effective solution…

However it doesn't appear you can use a foot pedal with the Spark app to control the video. The Vidami foot pedal allows you to control the video without taking your hands off the guitar.

The Spark Control lets you do that. Though it’s a $100 add on

Link below for an extension for chrome browser that lets you loop a selected portion of a youtube video

The control appears below the youtube video. You can loop as many times as you want.

I've never managed to get this extension to work. I use looptube.

The Vidami is an excellent tool. It’s a little rough around the edges, but well worth the money.

Hopefully the edges will get smoothed in the next release.

I was going to suggest that. Love my Vidami.

I received the Vidami Blue. Looks like it works great although I just made sure the pedal as advertised. I didn’t like it hurt to use barefooted, so I opted for buttons off a Amazon for $11 for 6. Vidami suggested Barefoot Buttons were $9 per button. I think I will like it.

I guess if you already have one, it’s a not a bad upgrade.

I returned the Vidami Blue. It was ok, but I didn’t like the two rows of buttons. I found a 5 button pedal from Xsonic Airstep Play which will do the same things plus more as each button as 3 different functions. Plus the buttons are on a single row and it’s less than half price of the Vidami at $70 plus shipping. Also the Vidami didn’t work on Android platforms.

There are more expensive Airsteps pedals that are also available that do more than the Airstep Play like control amps and have midi outputs etc. They is even a Cadillac version which has all of all of the features of every Airplay pedal for $190.
