Default Whelp, I done did it.

After 3 years, I finally pulled the trigger on a D-1212 from Sweetwater.

I'll now have 5 guitars and 3 of them will be 12 strings. The next one after this will probably be *another* 12 string, got my eye on the Epiphone inspired by Gibson Hummingbird 12 string. Might have a problem if.

Well, I see no problem. You’re the one who’s gotta restring and retune all those 12s. If you’re willing to do that, just enjoy the chimes that only a 12 will ring.

If you tried to tune all your guitars, by the time you got the last one in tune the first one would probably have a couple strings gone out already.

Maybe true in the old days but with clip on tuners the 12 strings don't take much time at all to tune correctly nowadays. I love modern technology. Sometimes.

Nothing wrong with three twelve strings - I have one in maple, one in rosewood and one in mahogany: all different beasts. If I could find the cash, I'd like a small bodied 12 too - possibly one of the Taylor GCs or a Faith Venus 12.

Congrats! There's a thread discussion 8 string guitars... perhaps you can experiment removing 4 strings from one of your guitars to see how you like it.

I have a set of Nickel Bronze strings laying around for when it gets here. Anyone tried those on one of these guitars?

I have 4 12-strings and a Guild D-1212 12-String could be number 5! Love to hear your review!

Congrats! Great choice, as I can tell you from my recent experience that you will love that D1212, and will find it really hard to put down.

Might just have to seek one out sometime. They sure are purdy with that 41-style abalone purfling.

the Westerly series are pretty nice.

I have the F-1512

It did need a setup, it had issues but the tech I bring stuff to set it up really nicely.

a keeper for sure.
