Una Limosna por el Amor de Dios
(An Alm for the Love of God)
Gran Trémolo / El Ultimo Trémolo

Composer: Agustín Barrios (1885 - 1944)

Agustín Pío Barrios (also known as Agustín Barrios Mangoré and Nitsuga—Agustin spelled backward—Mangoré; May 5, 1885 – August 7, 1944) was a Paraguayan virtuoso classical guitarist and composer, largely regarded as one of the greatest performers and most prolific composers for the guitar. El ultimo Tremolo is barrios’ swan song, he wrote this piece shortly before he died. The beat of the song was inspired by the rhythm of someone knocking upon barrios’ door! The knocks can be found in the first two bars of the piece and this motif runs throughout the entire work.

This piece is selected as one of RCM (The Royal Conservatory of Music) grade 10 pieces.

Time signature: 3/4
