Default McGuire's Landing - Pete Huttlinger Cover

I thought I would experiment around a little with video again. Here is McGuire's Landing, a Pete Huttlinger tune. There are a few mishaps, but it was fun.

McGuires Landing

Regards!

Rick

Great job Rick both with the video and audio. I really didn’t hear any mishaps. I learned that song last year and I always enjoy playing it, one of my favorites. I use the arrangement as Pete played on the Santa Rita Connection and I had to compromise to some easier left hand grips in 3-4 measures. I think I heard some nuances in your performance not in the arrangement I work from and I liked them.

Good job on a challenging piece - nice video work too.

Hi Rick!

That was lovely! Very nicely done and what a lovely sounding guitar!

I know this song well since I learned it quite a few years ago. I have now completely forgotten how to play it!

I like your video work, too!

Well done all the way around!

- Glenn

Hi Glenn,

Well that is very nice of you to say, especially since you play so well and have such lovely instruments.

I actually have more time now to experiment with the video thing. Also, I am retiring next June, so there will be more time to devote to music.

And, yes, this Taylor 814c was a special order for me back in 2011, turned out to be quite a lovely sounding instrument. I didn't want the ES.

I sure would love to hear you play this song!

Warm regards!

Rick

Hi Rick, a little late to the party but I wanted to say you did a great job. I remember a little while back you were looking for some help on this arrangement. I’m a big Huttlinger fan and enjoyed this (and Chester) a lot.
BTW, if you don’t mind sharing, what is your hardware/interface setup? You got a very nice sound and the video was spot on as well.

Hi John,

In this case, I just used my macbook pro to record into iMovie, using an AT2020 USB mic. So, nothing fancy. Usually, when I want pristine recording sound, I will use my pro recording setup, but this time, it was just easier to use this setup. Turns out, iMovie is pretty easy to learn, and not much to it to make a video like this.

My home recording setup for just audio for my website is very different. If you are interested in how that sounds, My Website

Thanks!
