Default Santa Cruz Model H Short Scale

Long an honored presence in the Santa Cruz collection, the 1930’s inspired H Model joined their catalog in 1977 during the formative years of the company. This was a challenging era to introduce a non-Dreadnought, non-12-fret guitar. Opting to be favored by natural selection, SCGC presented the now standard 14 frets to the body configuration to an audience that valued the additional 2-fret access on such a classic, vintage body.

Most players are astonished when they play the Santa Cruz H for the first time. Its volume is startling for a small-bodied guitar. The body’s depth allows for a much larger presence than would be expected in an instrument of its size. The guitar’s balanced hand voicing gives the H a precise response at every fretboard position. This model is highly recommended for those who prefer the sweetness and ease of playing a small guitar but require more comfort and volume.

It has been customized with a 1-3/4” nut width, short scale (24.75”) length, Adirondack braces with hot hide glue, natural finish on top/back/sides, thin black back strip, Indian Rosewood overlay and SCGC script logo headstock inlay. All other specs are standard to the H model and can be found here: https://santacruzguitar.com/h-model/

It was my first short scale so I said what the heck and took it on a trade, but I’m not jiving with it. There is a VERY minor ridge in the binding at the waist. It seems to be ok, but it would be the kind of thing that would tick me off if a seller didn’t disclose to me.

Has a fresh set of Santa Cruz low tension strings on it.

$3500 plus shipping No more trades on this one. Needs to be a cash sale.

New Week New Bump

Some VERY tempting and interesting trade offers, but I really need cash on this one. With a little one in diapers there are only so many guitars I can accumulate

Depth is standard for the model H: 3.625-4.625"
My understanding from my talks with Santa Cruz is that it’s a Sitka top
