Mark I agree...the maple trinity isn't bright to me it's very responsive, loud for such a little guitar and a bit cleaner tone but definitely very pleasing to my ear.

Thanks Steve for your comment and I am certainly looking forward to meeting you and checking out your guitars.

dcn no it's not my 100th but the rosette is similar with the exception of I have abalone on this one. The reason for me doing this fan fret spread was because I have a customer that didn't need the 2" spread so I did some research and felt this spread would work well for him. So I thought I would give it a try on this guitar. Glad I did because I love it!

Thanks Jesse and Tony for your comments! Tony I'm looking forward to seeing your guitars today.

Great, Tom. Thanks for the reply, and best of luck with the show. Your instruments are beautiful.

I spent lots of time playing Tom's guitars. Truly remarkable guitars, some of the very best of the show that I played. He was one of the few builders at the show where each and every guitar was a stand out. His coco/cedar fan fret is coming home with my friend Lisa. She couldn't be happier.

His Brazilian/Swiss spruce was my favorite of the show (that I played).

That's great to hear! I hope she enjoys it as much I expect to enjoy my new Trinity model. Hearing such a glowing review just adds to my anticipation!

Tom Doerr is definitely one of a very, very select few of the people who are the best guitar makers on the planet. There can be no equivocation about this. To see his instruments in person is a revelation. And for me, I'd even call it a spiritual experience. The appreciation and respect I feel for Tom and his guitars takes me to that wellspring of inspiration where true wonder overwhelms the ordinary, and creates a new order of being.

That's not hyperbole. It's the straight-up truth.

I agree completely. Tom's guitars were awesome and the Brazillian/Swiss was my favorite, other than the Coco/ Cedar that your friend got to take home. Amazing trebles, mids, and Lows on both of them. Very, very nice.

For those who have tried the Swiss Brazilian and Swiss African Blackwood, can kindly share the differences in tone? Since both have Swiss spruce and both are new, I thought it will be a fair comparison...

Tom has been and will be one of the very best luthiers in my book, having seen and played many of the top names in the industry. Having worked with Tom on a custom build i must say his eye for detail and ability to execute his keen sense of design - simple elegance - is just amazing. Tom's also one of the nicest chaps U could ever hope to meet

I'll soon be posting my Memphis Festival review on the Fretboard Journal site. Alas, my day job obligations have intervened upon my return, so I'm a couple of days behind schedule.

I can say that Tom's guitars in general and that black maple beauty in particular will feature prominently in my article. Fabulous instruments.
