Default Where can I get firestripe pickguard material?

Recently I saw a photo essay on a Wayne Henderson guitar build process, and it showed him cutting a pickguard out of a sheet of firestripe tortoiseshell plastic. I know I could call Wayne and ask him where he got it, but from my own experience as a Henderson guitar customer I know he gets phone calls all the time from people waiting on their guitars. So I'd just as soon not pester him if I can avoid it.

But I would like to get my hands on some sheets of that firestripe pickguard material. I know I can play with epoxy and pigment and make some pickguards that way, but I'd really just prefer to get the material already in a sheet.

Do any of you know who might have some to sell? I'd be grateful for any pointers you all might have.

Thanks in advance,

Wade Hampton Miller

Thanks, Pat. Now I need to call them tomorrow to discover whether it can be shipped to Alaska, since celluloid nitrate is designated as a hazardous material. Living up here is like living on a distant island in a lot of ways, at least when it comes to having stuff shipped here.

I have a 24* 36 sheet of the .07 dark tortoise shell material, I don't need.
Pm me if interested in any of it and I'll send you some pics.

Did you try www.firestripepickguards.com yet? James Burkett used to sell custom guards, he may sell sheets as well. Great stuff.

LMI stocks Greven's fire stripe material. While john might send you some eventually, LMI will send it today.

While he's kept his website up, it really doesn't appear that he's making pickguards any longer.

Maybe drop the boys at Collings an email and ask them where they get theirs? It's some of the better looking stuff I've seen.

I was visiting on the 13th, and understood, from the banter, and reading Jayne's blog, that they made their pick guards.
