NMD day...
"M" as in microphone. An Audio-Technica AT 2035. Not an expensive mic at all, but really low self noise at 12 db spl.
I already had one and I'm looking forward to recording with these two as a spaced pair. My Sterling ST170 ribbon mic will get limited use. Too much self noise. I like loading my recordings into an editor and not seeing any haze in the spectral view. Audio-Technica AT2035 large condenser Here is a recording with the one AT2035. "Twenty"

Sweet tune Barry, the mic is not bad either. I always enjoy your sound bites, you have talent. In all honesty when I saw the title of the thread, thought you had bought a mandolin.
