It's also important to note that SoundPure appears to have some stereo room reverb on the guitar, it's not mono, so we're not hearing the raw mic signal. The processing is more evident (tho different) if you check out the vocal portion. So just that slight stereo effect on SoundPure's demo makes the sound open up a bit. This is how a mic could sound in the studio with processing, not the direct mic.
I'm sure that room and reverb are affecting the tone, but that is still pretty representative of that mic on that guitar as I've had my guitars in front of a 251. The reason I posted that link is so that he could try that position his mic like that to see what he gets, as he was talking about how he was positioning his mic on his clip. Gwlee7 is getting some warm tone, that is nice, but it doesn't sound like a 251 to me, his is more thicker in the mids and softer on top, and I'm wondering if he got the mic in the same position would he hear a similarity. I didn't say I preferred one to another, I was just posting a reference track for him.

Here's another 251 demo and the processing seems to be minimal...

Given that the Warm Audio take on the Telefunken ELAM 251 is less than 1/10 the price of the progenitor it sounds amazingly good to me.
