1981 Martin D-18 (Kimsey’ed) sold
Martin D-18 from 1981 that has been completely overhauled by Bryan Kimsey. Has its share of marks and dings but pretty clean for its age. Strangely there’s a small filled hole on the back of the neck where a strap button must have been. Filled nicely and hardly noticeable. Endpin jack with no pickup. Also comes with a black non original Martin case that’s seen some use but works well. Looking for $old shipped ppg. The following are modifications that were performed (I believe in 2016) :
- neck reset - refret of 1st 15 frets - full brace scallop - large rosewood bridge plate replaced with small black locust - Tuners replaced with oval open-back Gotoh's - black pickguard replaced with awesome 30's style beveled guard - head stock polished - bridge pin holes correctly slotted - replaced 1 & 11/16" nut https://reverb.com/item/13673378-198...-modified-d-18
