Default Suggestions for Isolation head phones.

I’m getting some click track on some tracks when I record.
Can any one suggest a pair of head phone that will minimize the spill.
Have about $150 to spend. Could go up to $200 if need be

Have you tried ear-buds? Something like this:

https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...arphones-black

I also have a pair of HN-7506s from Remote Audio that I sometimes use:

Usually, I can just make sure the click is low, and any phones will work.

Are you currently using open back headphones while tracking? If so, moving to closed back phones should solve the issue. Sony MDR-7506 Headphones are a solid choice and can be had for about $100.

Im currently using AKG 280 pros which are closed back, but I still get a bit of bleed. It’s subtle bit I can hear it when the playing fades or before the playing started. The click is not necessarily loud in the cans when I record. I am using sensitive mics

I appreciate the suggestion

I don’t really have the click to loud but I have sensitive mics . I will give the ear buds a try.

Try ear buds along with a pair of closed back headphones. Only the earbuds are active and the closed back headphones are not plugged in and are used only to reduce the radiation of the click sounds.

You may be recording too loud? You should be shooting for -18 to -12dBFS when recording.

In-ears. Try these. You will not believe how good these sound for less than the price of a bottle of bourbon. One suggestion, spend another 6 dollars and get a set of foam plugs to completely seal the ear canal.

The K280s are considered "semi open back", so you get a good deal of bleed.

If you're happy with AKGs you could go with any of these for less than $150:
K171
K182
K275

You could also try the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x. I have 2 sets of those...I like them quite a bit for tracking.

And there is also the Sennheiser HD280PRO. These are very nice for the money (about $100).

Good suggestion above and OP if you don't already have a set of closed back audio HP's just about any full HP type ear protection head set, will work and usually much cheaper than most audio HP's And are a good idea for around the house for any noisy activity (mowing lawn) etc.
