With this guitar not due for a while a few other things (mostly getting stuff settled for The Woodstock Show) I have not put a ton of time in it. That said I have made some progress.
I have seen many ways to join the top and backs. This process has worked well for me over the years. Here are the "plates" cut out to (rough) size. Marking the back plate in preparation for the back reinforcement strip |

Now the back plate is one and cut to shape the quality of the grain really is impressive.
