Default "Aloha Kaua`i" slack key style

Wow, we're getting a lot of action here in "Show and Tell" - thanks to all the folks putting their stuff up.

It's been too cold here to spend time upstairs in the studio (we're too cheap to heat the upstairs in the winter) so here's one from the living room: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLPdBM2srGU

Perhaps the living room is not a bad place...
Great to listen to your music as always, Fran.

I enjoyed that so much. Brought me back to Kau'ai, my favorite of the islands. Thanks for sharing.

Nice all around production Fran.

Maybe I do need to upgrade to the Zoom H6 after all

Very nice, Fran. Also appreciate your site with all that recording knowledge. Maybe I need to start using my H6.

Thank you, Danny. I'm sure you know that the National resonator guitars were originally created for Hawaiian music. Are you hip to Kalama's Quartet? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVNiei7JPdE They have been a huge inspiration to me, even though I don't play slide or do much uptempo stuff.

Thanks for listening. Lynn has taken the house very much in a Hawaiiana direction and I've tried to capture some of that in the past, but I've never been happy with the results. Having someone to move a camera really opened up the possibilities.

I've only been to the Garden Isle once, we never got to Koke`e because Lynn got car-sick on the road up to Waimea Canyon. But we got just far enough to begin to see the magnificent canyon view. It seems like lots of the tunes I do are related to Kaua`i though, it has inspired lots of poetry over the years.

Thanks for watching.

Thanks, Bob. Hey, I can't get to the Hobo Troubadours Soundcloud page in your sig. Is it a problem on my end (I had a problem with another Soundcloud page today), a Soundcloud problem, or an obsolete link?

Edit: The link in your sig still doesn't work but once I got my spelling bug figured out I got to the artist page. Cool.

Bill, you're hilarious! You've been putting up great sounding stuff for years, the only person who hears any problems with your tracks is _you_ (grin).

Thanks, Tony, I embarrass myself often over there on Homebrewed Music, but I keep trying to figure things out.

As far as using the H6, I think you're right, it will probably make better recordings if it's turned on and sitting in front of a musician (grin).

Seriously though, I'm surprised at how much easier recording is after doing it a few hundred times. Less red light fever, less trouble finding a good mic location, quicker and easier post production moves too.

Still can't stand to hear my singing, though (grin).

We're pet sitting a dog that speaks Portuguese, her owners are from Brasil. Since we have no knowledge of the language we're lucky she's such an easy going pup. I think she may be bilingual (grin).
